Chrysler Repair: 93 chrysler caravan...?, dodge caravan, cable clamp

Question
they told me when i bought my vehicle that it is a 93 Chrysler caravan but in the autozone Internet site doesn't appear!. does such vehicle exist? and if so, where is the starter located (i can't see it) and, what is the easiest way to replace

Answer
Hi Jorge,
Vans delivered in the US that are called Caravans are sold as Dodge vehicles, not Chrysler. But I think when sold outside the US they were called Chrysler caravan.
So look up Dodge Caravan at Autozone.
There are 4 different engine possibliities. The starter motor is mounted on the lower right or lower left side of the engine,at the rear of engine with the nose of the starter meshing with the flex plate located at the seam between the engine and transmission. You will see it more easily from underneath, on one side or the other of the oil pan. It is pretty easy to replace. But disconnect the - post of the battery cable clamp so you don't get a shock.
Let me know the engine size and I can be more specific. All you have to do is take off the wires and unbolt the bolts that hold it to the rear of the engine.
