Chrysler Repair: 99 sebring conv 2.5Lcode P0123/no spark, signal wire, stray voltage

Question
my sebring has the 2.5l v6.it died on me 2 weeks ago.it will not start back up.it cranks, but no start.i noticed very low fuel pressure,so i changed the fuel pump assy.i checked for spark, but none.so bought a code reader, it says code p0123 for tps voltage high.could the tps shut down spark?or do i have to buy tps and a distributor?

Answer
Hi Tony,
You might want to check the rotor in the distributor and the cap condition, but I wouldn't invest in a distributor without real proof it was bad. It is too expensive to buy on a hunch. I would check the tps wires as they get a lot of heat and if those look ok then replace the tps. See first if you have 5v on the violet/white wire and that the orange/light blue signal wire is not showing some stray voltage above 5V due to a short. I can give you the connections for the distributor plugs so you can check those out too before considering replacement. Write back if you need that info.
