Chrysler Repair: Neon Themostat, engine thermostat, coolant recovery


Question
The thermostat has gone on my '99 Neon, we've bought a replacement, and we're pretty sure we know how to replace it. But could you run through it for me, if you know? I'd just like to be sure.

ENGINE THERMOSTAT
REMOVAL
Drain cooling system to the thermostat level or below.
Remove coolant recovery/reserve system (CRS) hose and thermostat/engine outlet connector bolts Thermostat/Engine Outlet Connector - SOHC or Thermostat/Engine Outlet Connector - DOHC
Remove thermostat and O-ring assembly
INSTALLATION
Clean all sealing surfaces.
Place the new thermostat assembly into the thermostat housing/outlet connector. Align vent with notch in cylinder head.
Install thermostat housing/outlet connector onto cylinder head and tighten bolts to 12.5 N·m (110 in. lbs.) Connect the coolant recovery/reserve system (CRS) hose.
Refill cooling system. Refer to procedure in this section
