Chrysler Repair: Sebring 2006 convert: Odor in cabin, ac coil, cabin filter

Question
How do I find the air conditioner (cabin) filter for the passenger side so I can clean it?  It is smelling and needs to be cleaned out...

Answer
Hi Doyle,
I am not able to get manuals for models so new at a price I can afford. So maybe there is such a filter, but there wasn't one in the late 90's model. My suspicion is that you have a build up of water in the drain pan that collects condensate off the AC coil and then is supposed to drain that through a hole in the firewall. The drain pipe has a little rubber tip to keep mud out of it.
If you look from under the car with it jacked up on one side and supported on a jack stand for safety you will find a small pipe near the floor level, about midline on body, sticking out of the fire wall. Take a stiff wire and try to clean out the lumen of the pipe so that it will drain away the water in the pan. It is probably moldy and that is your source of odor.
