Chrysler Repair: Re:Intermittent starting fault, chrysler voyager, voyager 3

Question
I have a 97 Chrysler Voyager 3.3 auto.Occasionally upon turning the ignition key there are no dash lights or gauges working and it will not start it will fire once then just turn over.Sometimes you can return to it and it will start first time and other times the same as mentioned. As it is an intermittent fault it is harder to diagnose but there are no fault codes present and once started it appears to be fine.
The immobiliser light goes out as it should when pressing the remote every time.
This is just frustrating as it has become unreliable to use.
Hope someone can help.

Answer
Hi Marcus,
My first suspicion is that you have a bad ignition switch. Here is how to tell: When you have no dash lights and not gauges, leave the key in that position and check for whether you have voltage on these fuses in the fuse box under the dash--#11, #8, #6, #2. Each of those fuses is supplied by a separate section of the ignition switch, so they should be "hot" when you have the key in the run position. If you don't have voltage on all of them then that is likely why you can't start the van.
