Chrysler Repair: Diagnostic trouble code1776, solenoid switch, mail address

my freind has an intriped with this code i see that you have responded to this question before would like to know if you would send me the diagstics you had talked about ive been to two shops and they say rebuild and i can tell they want the money not to fix my trans. this car drives for 10 or 20 miles before the check engine light come on and then. when i slow down to under 25 mile per hour i down shifts in to first gear. not second. i dont think its in limp mode im certant its first. after i stop for andfor a couple of hours it will drive fine untell check engine light comes on again?

Hi Tom,
That code involves the L/R solenoid switch valve being locked up when it shouldn't be.
The set of tests covers four pages which I can best get to you by xerox and postal mail. So use the "thank and rate" tab where there is a space to enter a message giving your postal mail address.
While a rebuild is possible, specific issues with the relay for the transmission or the L/R switch electrical circuit need to be considered first. So don't buy into a rebuild until this is investigated thorougly.
Also check the fluid level in the trans, and if necessary only use ATF + 4 type.
