Chrysler Repair: Climate control; blower only on high, climate control unit, soldering pencil

Question
I have an eagle vision and the blower is stuck on high and the climate control unit no longer powers up.  You answered this question for someone who had a manual controller...this one is automatic.  Same answer or is it a bit different?  BTW-for a while I could hit the climate control unit and it would turn back on.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jay,
The ATC also has a variable voltage supply only in its case it is not resistors but rather a solid stage multiple voltage supply called the ATC power module. It is located in the air duct adjacent to the blower. You can trace it by following the blower motor wires. A new unit is probably needed, but I would try to get the ATC head unit running again. Check fuse 13, and if that is OK I would remove the unit and check the circuit board/plug interface for a cold/cracked solder joint which you can repair by reheating with a soldering pencil.
