Chrysler Repair: rpm control problems, oxygen sensors, sensor feedback

Question
when your throdel is stuck wide open, is there a feature that cause the engen to increase the rpms and then to decrease them repeatedly  or is this telling me there is a problem besides my throdal sticking  which is now repaired now

Answer
Hi John,
There are many factors that affect the rpm: thottle position, idle air motor, mixture, oxygen sensors, temperature sensor, feedback loops of all these inputs, and the computer itself. The best thing is to get a readout of fault codes. You can get that done at an Autozone parts store for free, of around $40 from an independent shop. Find out the fault code numbers and their names. Then write back with the results and also tell me the year of your van and we'll go from there.
