Chrysler Repair: 93 Imperial wont start, code translation, translation code

Question
Hi,
I have a 1993 Imperial that will not start, its been sitting for around 5 years in storage. I bought this car and had keys made, hooked the battery, and the computer on the left hand side started to smoke. I then replaced it with a junk yard computer(9602 model, which was the original model number, changed the fuel pump(which didnt work but know is working and i am gettin fuel to the rail)but cant seem to get juice to the injectors. I also sprayed starting fuel into the throtel body and it will run temporaly but now i dont know what to do further to get the injectors to work. so please help if you can.
thank you alot,
Peter

Answer
Hi Peter,
The most efficient thing would be to see what fault codes the computer might have recognized. Use the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave it on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the check engine light, which remains "on", to begin to flash, pause, flash, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause. Then repeat to get an accurate count. Then combine the numbers in pairs in the order of appearance to form the two-digit fault codes. Then write back or go to www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html for a code translation. Code 55 is always the last one read out, it means, "end of readout".
It may not be the injectors but rather some other sensor/component related to the mixture.
If you write back, tell me which engine you have in the car.
