Chrysler Repair: 1997 Concorde - Instrument cluster malfuntion, cluster board, headlamp switch

Question
Hi Kevin,

I just finished up a correspondence with Roland (volunteer) about my instrument cluster malfunction (all gauges are dead most of the time and periodically come on). In his solution he has suggested to me to access the cluster board and inspect the interconnections between the socket and circuit board for cracks (suspecting an "open" disconnection). Roland said it was about a 7-step process to access the cluster board and that it would "not be a difficult job to do yourself". My questions to you are these:

1. Would you concur with Roland on his solution?
2. How do I access the cluster board on a 1997 Concorde?
3. Is this really something a novice should tear into?

Thank you for your time.
