Chrysler Repair: 1999 Concord Timing Chain, chrysler intrepid, timing changes

Question
I found this site on Chrysler intrepid timing changes. Looks like this is a known defect and the manufacture will not do anything about it. I have a 99 Concord with a 2.7 motor. This is the second time the chain went. First went at 80,000 and needs one now at 140,000. The car is in good shape. How do you determine if you want to replace it again. Was quoted $4-5K. If I don't fix it what do you suggest? Sell (worth anything with a known problem) it or give it away?
