Chrysler Repair: a/c not working:94 Concorde, automatic temperature controls, 1994 chrysler concorde

Question
I have a 1994 Chrysler Concorde.  It is blowing out hot air or whatever temperature is outside at the time.  I have taken in to be looked at.  They checked the fuses and they were all good. The relay was replaced did not solve problem.  Please help!!  I just spent over $300 on new struts and cannot afford to fix a/ac unless I can do it myself or just suffer with the heat.

Answer
Hi Felicia,
There is built-in self-diagnostic capability on your control panel, but I need to know if you have the conventional controls (just knobs) or automatic temperature controls (with a lighted digital temperature readout). So use the "thank and rate" tab if I am shown as "maxed out" to tell me. Also give me an email address otherwise you will have to wait until I am "available" to take a follow-up question with that information I need.
Have you verified that there is sufficient refrigerant in the AC system? If not, that is the most likely reason for no cooling. The AC systems uses a mix of cold and hot air to control the temperature of the output, so if there is no compressor because the refrigerant is low (a lock out to prevent damage to the compressor) then you will still get warm air. But it also could be an air control door that is at fault, and that would be revealed by the self-diagnostic test.
