Chrysler Repair: 95 Cirrus no start due to alarm, front doors, lock switch

Question
I have tried all the tricks, to disarm the alarm still no start. What it is still doing is if you leave the key on for a few seconds the alarm light will light up and stay on, doesn't blink just stays on.

Answer
Hi Andrew,
About the only possibility I can see is for there to be an open fuse #5 in the fuse "junction block" under the hood. It is 10 amp so try replacing that with another one. That is the fuse that supplies the power to the disarming switches located in the right and left front doors. Try both doors (lock/unlock) to clear the armed condition. If none of that works, then I suspect that the single wires from the door locks to the body controller of each door is broken due to fatigue, probably at the hinge. Unfortunately it involves testing from the lock switch to the body controller located on the rear of the junction block  (pins 19 and 20, left and right door respectively) to test that hypothesis. The dealer can possibly do that with the diagnostic readout box, but you would have to have the car towed to the dealer. Once you get the system disarmed, never use the door key or power door locks to secure the doors. Only use the push buttons and you won't rearm the system again. I wish I could tell you something other than fuse 5, but give that a try.
