Question
QUESTION: i have a 2.7 DOHC v6.  My PCM/ECU is out... The dealer wants to charge $750.  I can get the part off the internet for about $30, and I can get the part from Advanced Auto for $100.  If I get this part, how will I be able to replace it?  I have a friend that was a certified mechanic, however, he usually works on Honda vehicles.  If you know of a site to go to, that'd be great.  It would be wonderful to get some pix.  Thanks for your assistance.

ANSWER: I doubt that u can get a PCM for 30 bucks  look at what the dealer wants for a new on  so u think u are getting one for 30??And advanced auto does not sell engine computers.
If u do get one from some where  U will also need to program it to your car. Oh and one more thing do u have a gray key?? if no  there is no way u can replace the pcm and get ANY one else to program the keys with out a dealer doing it.
If u live near Atlanta I would look at this for u.

QUESTION: how much would you do it for?

Answer
I would like to look at it first unless the PCM had the one code that says PCM internal failure  there is a good chance thats its not the computer. But I would be glad to look at it for u and we can go from there. U would get Dealer experience  but at half the price =)
