Chrysler Repair: Chrysler T&C starting, chrysler town and country, dash lights

Question
QUESTION: Hi:  I would really like some help.  Please!  I have a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country with 3.8L V6.  Recently, after driving it for 30-45 minutes then stopping and shutting the engine off for a few minutes to an hour or so, I have problems starting it, especially when the weather is warm.  This is an intermittant problem.  When I start it, the engine will run for 2-5 seconds then die.  I will start it again and it will rum for 2-5 seconds then die again. I start it again and rev the engine and it dies again. After 3-5 attempts, the engine will not turn over at all.  The dash lights go on, horn works, headlights work, and battery is in good shape.  No clicking from the starter at all.  If the van is left overnight, it starts fine as if nothing has happened.  Drive it for a couple of days and without warning the cycle starts again.  My mechanic cannot duplicate the problem.  Please give me some ideas.  Could it be the ignition control module/computer heating up and could I diagnose it by blowing cold air on it when this happens?  Thanks so much for your help.  P.S. Where is the module controlling this function?

ANSWER: when this is going on smack the top of the dash to see if it works again. if os u have a bad ckt board in the cluster.

QUESTION: Can you explain further about the cluster.  Is it it the dashboard and how is it located.  Is it easily removed for testing etc.  Are they available aftermarket or is it a dealer item.  How about a boneyard.  I live in Seattle area, otherwise I would let you take a look at the van.  Thanks

Answer
Check out dodgeforum.com or chryslerforum.com there is several posts on there about the repair of the broken solder point. If it cant be done then u will need a new one which i think  would be dealer only. Any way u look at it u will need the new board re calibrated and I think only a dealer can do this I have not tried it with my snapon scanner  so I am not sure.
