Chrysler Repair: MAP location for 1999 cirrus, upper intake manifold, wire colors

Question
QUESTION: where do I locate the MAP sensor?

ANSWER: Hi Mike,
I assume you have the 2.5L V-6, otherwise write back and say which engine you have. On that engine the manifold absolute pressure sensor is on the passenger side (right side) of the upper intake manifold. You will find it to have the following wire colors: dark green/red, violet/white, and black/light blue. If you are replacing the old one, buy a new one and that too will help you find it.

QUESTION: Wow, thanks for such a quick response.
I do not have the car here right now (wife at work) but I'm thinking it is a 4 cyl? Dumb eh! I am pretty sure it's four plugs in a staight line from passanger side to driver side on very top of engine. Real deep holes for plugs.
So if different location from the info you sent on 6 cyl, please forward different info and when she gets home I'll check it out and be all set.
Thank you so much.
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,
There are two 4 cyl engines, a SOHC 2.0 and a DOHC 2.4.
On the 2.0 the MAP and air intake temp sensor are combined in a single unit with 4 wires, while on the 2.4 the MAP is separate with the same wire colors as described earlier. In both cases they are mounted on the intake air manifold: the 2.0 combined unit is between a couple of air intake pipes ans similarly for for the 2.4. The extra wire on the 2.0 is black/red, but otherwise its 3 wires are also the same as described originally.
