Chrysler Repair: 87 New Yorker 2.2L turbo: oil leak at distributor, distributor shaft, spark plug wire

Question
I have an oil leak where the spark plug wire distributor assembly mates with the engine block of this 2.2 liter Turbo.  Its a remanufactureed engine with 19 K on it. Are there worn out O-Rings on the distributor shaft that could be causing the leaking or a seal of some sort that needs to be replaced?

Answer
Hi Ralph,
Fortunately I have the parts catalog and indeed there is an O-ring for that distributor (#6031 594). So check with a dealer to get it. You will have to reset the distributor timing with a timing light: engine warm, at idle, with coolant temp sensor plug removed to be at 12 BTDC.
That should deal with your leak.
