Chrysler Repair: Concorde 98 - Brakelights are out, chrysler concorde lxi, chrysler concorde

Question
I own a 98 Chrysler Concorde LXi and realized yesterday that the breaklights are out.  I changed the fuse and also the stoplight switch to no sucess.  I turned the hazard lights on and the backlights work just fine so that cancelled the theory of needing new bulbs.  The light on the back window is also out.  What can I do next?
Thank you very much
Frank

Answer
Hi Frank,
You didn't mention which fuse you changed. There are two in series that both need to be good: #1 in the power distribution box under the hood and #20 in the fuse box under the dash. Verify that you have 12V on both sides of fuse #20.
Then check that you get 12V on the pink/dark blue wire on the switch and when you close the switch that you get 12V on the white/tan wire. If you have that and still no stop lamps then there are a couple of disconnects along the path to the rear that need to be checked. But let me know that you do have 12V on the white/tan at the stop switch but still no bulbs and I will tell you how to find the disconnects.
