Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Cirrus: theft system wont cancel alarmed state...wont start, 1995 chrysler cirrus, chrysler cirrus

Question
I have a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus that has gone into security mode where it will start but then shut down 5 seconds later.  I had it put on an analyser, but no codes showed up. Only thing it read was: vehicle theft, fuel----- no fuel shut off. Mechanic said something is cutting off fuel to injectors. Do you know how to get this car out of security mode?

Answer
Hi Mary,
The normal way of disarming the system is to unlock either the driver's or the passenger's front door using the key, or using the remote keyless entry fob. So try all three.
There is a wire at either door lock that sends a calibrated voltage to the body control module under the dash which is the brain center of the anti-theft system, and when it receives that voltage it cancels the alarmed state. The fuel cut off is a sign that indeed the system was alarmed and so it uses that means to keep a thief from stealing the car. If unlocking either front door doesn't do it, then try locking then unlocking either door. If that doesn't do it, then most likely the wire from either lock is broken. The wires are attached to pins 19 and 20 of the body controller, light green/orange and dark green/orange, driver and passenger respectively.
To fool the system (in the event that both wires are broken) you would need to measure the resistance across the two pins of either arm/disarm switch when the key is turned to the unlock position. Then buy a resistor at an electronics store that is that value of resistance, attach it to pin 19 or 20 by means of a pin inserted thruough the wire's insulation, depending upon which door switch you measured, and then briefly apply 12V to the other end of the resistor to simulate the unlocking action. That should cancel the alarmed state.
Please let me know how this works out. It is very frustrating. To avoid the issue in the future, never use the remote, the power door lock, or the key to lock any door, rather use the push button door lock.
