Chrysler Repair: Fan not working: LH, chrysler concorde lxi, coolant temperatures

Question
I have Chrysler Concorde LXi 2001 3.2l. I noticed that only one of two radiator
fans is working. Do I have bad Fan motor or Fan relay( If relay where are they
placed).
Thank You

Answer
Hi Denis,
There is a high speed and a low speed fan, and these come on at different coolant temperatures, about 6-9 degrees hotter to cause the high speed fan to come on. So that could explain your observation. There is a separate relay for each fan, both located in the power distribution center under the hood near the battery. You can test the relays by switching thme and noticing whether there is a difference in how the fans operated. Each fan motor has a black ground wire and an individual power wire: low speed (tan) and high speed (light green). So you could test the fans directly by jumping a 12V wire from the battery to its power wire and a wire from the black wire to the - post of the battery. Those test should sort out question if there actually is a problem.
