Chrysler Repair: blend door actuator, LH 2000, chrysler concorde, 2000 chrysler concorde

Question
I have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde 2.7 liter. My car will run a diagnostic test on itself according to my manual the blend door actuator has failed or stalled.  My husband can't find where it is located. Could you help me please.

Answer
Hi Allyson,
There are two door actuators on the heating/AC unit. One if for distribution of the air the other is for temperature mixing of hot and cold air (blend). They are both on the left side of the unit and each has 5 wires. The mode is on the lower side while the blend is on the bottom near the center tunnel. They have three wires in common (brown/white, dark blue/gray, pink/dark blue) but the 4th and 5th wires of the blend are colored dark blue/red and red/white. To get to it you need to remove the under dash panel silencer/ducts on both sides. Once you find the blend actuator you remove a couple of screws accessible from the right side of the center stack and one screw accessible from the left side of the stack. Pull the actuator straight down from the unit which will disconnect it from the blend door shaft. Note the position of the actuator shaft and be sure that it is in the same position when you install the new actuator which is keyed to mate with it.
If you can't ID it I can xerox copy and postal mail you a picture of the unit.
