Chrysler Repair: Engine makes tapping sound, 2.5L V-6, low oil pressure, spring retainer

Question
The engine stated tapping when cold, now taps almost aii the time. What could be the problem?

Answer
There are a number of possible causes, all related valve lash adjusters, also known appriately as tappets. A simple cause is too much or too little engine oil. Other than that it involves doing some diagnosis:
low oil pressure
the oil restrictor pressed into the vertical oil passage to the cylinder head is plugged with debris
air ingested into oil due to broken or cracked oil pump pick-up
worn valve guides
rocker arm ear contacting valve spring retainer
rocker arm loose, adjuster stuck or at maximum extension and still leave lash in the system
faulty lash adjusters.
The valve lash adjusters can be checked individually. Let me know if you want specifics about doing that yourself. It requires dismantling the top of the engine to get to them on each side of the engine's cylinder head.
I'm not clear how much interest you have in doing this yourself, but at least these are the possibilities.
