Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Radios: source for schematics?, howard sams, electrolytic capacitors

Question
I have a small quantity of Chrysler AM/FM/Cassette/CD radios taken from LeBarons 1989-1995 in various degrees of disrepair.  Would you know of any source for the schematics? Thanks. TG

Answer
Hi Tim,
I have not seen any listings of such schematics on eBay under the "Chrysler manual" search heading, so I suspect Chrysler doesn't publish them. However in the past I recall that electronics trade stores (geared to the industry or repair trade as opposed to consumer products) sold auto radio schematic folios that grouped together many models by year or brand. I believe the publisher was Howard Sams. So you might try inquiring for that or looking on the internet for Sams publications.
If you find a source I would be interested in knowing of it.
My suspicion about such disrepaired audio equipment is that the power supply is the most likely source of failure, such as a failed capacitor. So in the absence of a schematic I begin by checking the electrolytic capacitors.
