Chrysler Repair: 95 Lebaron Convertible rear side window, chrysler lebaron, chrysler service

Question
The passenger side rear (small) window on 95 convertible no longer moves up/down with power switch. It was moving very slow for months prior to failing. How do I gain access to the motor, and I can replace just the motor or does it come as one package with window, motor, and frame. Also, the front windows leak (pour) rain. The windows dont appear to seat into the seals when up, especially toward the rear of the window. Any solutions and advice on the motor.  Thx

Answer
Hi Dan,
The quarter window (or 1/4 window) is the name of that style because it is in the shape of a quarter circle. It is a very common problem/question at the Yahoo group called "The Chrysler LeBaron Club" where there are about 1800 members, most of whom own the convertible. I own a LeBaron coupe so I am not up to speed on the most current approach or parts deals, etc. But if you go to the group and search "quarter window" or "1/4 window" you will see what is the latest info. There is one excellent write up of the procedure for changing the window motor/mechanism that you will see mentioned frequently:
http://as.timsoft.com/spikey/quarterwindow.html
so that too is a good place to start.
On the water seal issue with the door windows, again may I recommend that you ask at the Yahoo group? You will get the best up to date answer, I believe.
Let me know if you can't get the info you need to deal with these issues. I have a copy of the '94 Chrysler Service Manual and will be pleased to xerox and postal mail you the pages that show how to get to the motor mechanism to replace it. The '95 should be the same.
