Chrysler Repair: Cradle Bushing, fluid leaks, dodge intrepid

Question
I HAVE AN 97 DODGE INTREPID AND NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE CRADLE MOUNT BUSHINGS IS IT A DOIT YOUR SELF JOB OR WHAT.

Answer
Hi Sherman,
It looks to be straightforward and do-it-youself. But you need jackstands to hold the vehicle front end up, and a floor jack and block of wood that is the full width of the oil pan to raise the engine.
Remove the insulator top nuts at the engine bracket
Raise vehicle and support on jack stands
Support engine with a block of wood and floor jack under the oil pan
Remove the lower nuts at bottom of insulator and frame
Raise engine carefully enough to remove insulator
Install insulator, then reverse the steps.
Tighten nuts to 45 foot-pounds.
Some vehicles have hydromounts which don't need changing unless the fluid leaks out.
So if you have the tools, go for it.
