-----Question-----
Ok so a little while back I asked you a question relating to this same issue , basically i have a what i thought was a fuel pump issue i replaced the pump and still no dice (mind you its  a second hand pump )  now i know it could be my asd but i hear that click when i turn the car to the on position but still no fuel pump sound . I am going to test and see if i have power coming to the pump . If i do have power to the pump and my asd seems to be working , what is my next step ?(tryin to be prepared ) thanks

Hi Rod,
If the vehicle is '91 or earlier the pump is generally run directly off the ASD, so if that clicks for about a second and the wires to the pump are patent and you have voltage at the pump, then either the pump is bad or its ground wire at the frame nearby is disconnected. Beginning around '92 various models began to add a fuel pump relay that is operated by the ASD so if you don't have power to the pump that relay might not be good as well as the reasons above. So verifying whether you have power to the pump makes sense. The ASD only provides power for a second when you turn the switch to "run", then it only comes back on when you start cranking or the engine is running. Those are the parameters for the circuit, pretty straightforward compared to other systems. Let me know the vehicle mode/year if you want specific color code assignments for the wires or other circuit information.

Answer
Hi Rod,
The manual describes the ground point as the "left rear quarter panel wheel house. The grounds for the rear lighting system also ground at the same point so you ought to see an array of black wires coming to this point including the one from the fuel pump.
