Chrysler Repair: 1996 Chrysler Sebring, friend checks, chrysler sebring

Question
I had a problem with my car running for 20 min. then shutting down till it cooled then it would restart. I ran the code test received no codes. Then took it to a friend that has a machine, and he found nothing wrong. I left there and stopped the car and it wouldn't start. I checked for spark and have none.  I replaced the distributor about 2 months ago. Had it towed to a shop and he thinks it may be the timing belt, but he not possitive. He says that the machine won't show anything. He can't get anything from his machine. Do you think it could be the distributor gone bad again. Or the timing belt?  I thought if it was a timing belt situation that you still got spark. Do you have any suggestions. The car is beging to cost to much for what it worth. Thank You.

Answer
Sounds more like a wiring problem.I would look at the fuse box under the hood and the wiring to the pcm. When your friend checks for codes, see if his tool will read how many starts since it (pcm) was last cleared. If it is very low then you are more than likely losing power to the pcm.If your car is restarting, its not the timing belt.
