Chrysler Repair: How to remove wire connector for oil sender, chrysler dealer, oil loss

Question
I have a 97' Town & Country, probable cause of oil loss is sending unit, as it is bathed in oil.  Problem is releasing the wire connector.  It is long and lime green, one gray wire in the center.  Near the metal base of the unit the green connector has two wing like red tabs. At the other end, near the wire, is what I assumed would be the release lever.  However, nothing moves when I press it.
Have you any tips on getting this off or where I might find a good picture of it?

Answer
Hi Thom,
I am not familiar with that connector however may I suggest that you go to a Chrysler dealer and ask at the parts counter as to a replacement unit and for its wire connector so that you can examine it to see how it is removed? The alternative is to remove the sending unit without having removed the connector and then you can examine it more closely for the details as to how the release tab works. Sometimes the tab is released by gently lifting the tab rather than pressing on it, so give that a try.
