Chrysler Repair: 96 Sebring wont start, dashboard lights, egr tube

2.5L engine won't start. Battery is fully charged. Turning the ignition doesn't
even turn on the dashboard lights. I checked the power dist center fuses and
found the IGN Fuel Starter fuse (20A) was blown. Replaced it and got 1 start,
then 3 subsequent fuses were blown. Engine never turned after initial success.

What can I do instead of towing to the dealership?

I have come across this several times.The wire harness that is fairly close to the pdc and goes along the engine by the egr tube and across the water outlet is shorting to ground.It is a hard harness to get a clear look at without removing several parts.If you find an area that looks like it is rubbing through.Cut a piece of rubber and insulate it away from the engine.Good luck!
