Chrysler Repair: lamp out 04 Ram 1500, new trucks, body electronics

Question
I have a Lamp Out signal that comes on everytime that my vehicle rattles, thinking it is a short in one of the lights.  Two major problems 1) all my lights seem to work properly and 2) it goes on and off along with the sound, now that sound gets very annoying :-(  I would like to know if their is a way to disconnect that sound (buzzer), at this point I really do not care about the Lamp out problem. Thanks Mark

Answer
Hi Mark,
Unfortunately all the body electronics is integrated into one component, the body computer, which also has the buzzer built into it, in all likelihood. You could try shaking the bulbs gently in their sockets to find the loose one, or have a friend in another vehicle drive along in front and then behind on a bumpy road to see if he can see a light that is flakey. I don't believe there is any practical way to defeat the warning buzzer for just that particular alert system, unless that particular sound is unique for a light bulb out. I am not basing these opinions on knowledge of the wiring of trucks, particualrly so new a truck, but rather on my wiring diagrams and manuals for autos up to the 2000 model year. I wish I could be more helpful but very new trucks are outside my area of expertise.
Good luck on fixing this annoyance.
