Chrysler Repair: removing an alternator 1998 Chrysler Concorde LXI, chrysler concorde lxi, 1998 chrysler concorde

Question
I have a 1998 Chrysler Concorde LXI, with a 3.2 engine, we are trying to get the alternator out. An ideas would greatly help.

Answer
Hi Tracy,
I unfortunately don't have experience with that vehicle and engine combination, though I have an engine performance troubleshooting manual for it and can see where it is located. It looks pretty well "buried". I wonder if there might be shop manual by Haynes for that model?  Those are typically quite complete and specific so try checking a local car parts store for such a manual. I have the Haynes '93-7 Concorde manual but it doesn't show the tricks for getting to the alternator on the 3.2 because it wasn't used yet in that car during that time frame.
I wish I could be of help to you. There are two different on-line car clubs at Yahoo.com specializing in the Concordes and whose 180 or so members each who would be of help to you. One is called 'ChrylerLH' and the other is 'ChryslerLHownersassociation'. Just enter http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/ChryslerLH/    or ChryslerLHownersassociation/ and that should get you to their home pages. And from there you just join and post your question.

P.S. Let me know if you have any problems with the engine's running as I do have the troublecode-based repair manual for the engine.
