Chrysler Repair: 98 sebring no start after warm up no codes, crankshaft sensor, accurate thermometer

Question
i have a 98 2.5 6cyl. sebring lxi. i have had an obd2 and took it to the dealership and they dont know either. when cold the car starts and will run for about 5 to 10 mins. and then dies and will not start again for about another hour and then the ses light comes on but still no codes. initially when i start it for the first time there is no ses light untill i get it started the second time. the car after dying will still crank but nothing also i do here the fuel pump kick on every time i turn the key to start it. i have replaced the asd and fuel pump relays, spark plugs, wires, distributor , cap, and rotor, crankshaft sensor, egr valve, fuel and air filters, serviced the throttle body. i suspect it may be the ect sensor but when i take a meter to it after letting the car run for as long as i can i get a reading of 4k ohms, but the car is only 1/4 of the way warmed up.

Answer
Hi Brett,
I haven't been able to locate a graph of resistance vs. temp for Chrysler ect, but I would try removing the sensor and heating it in a pan of water along with an accurate thermometer. It should read 9-11K at 77 F and drop to to 600-800 at 212 F. It is difficult to determine temp via the dash gauge, so this is a more reliable test of the ECT. If that looks o.k. then I wonder if the MAP sensor might be off value. I have had a MAP become inaccurate without setting a fault. In my case it was causing a too lean mixture to start the engine, though it could go either way. The dealer tech noticed it quickly with the DRB II reader in my '89 because he could compare the ambient pressure with what the meter said the MAP thought the local pressure was. It was off by about 10k feet though it was responding to vacuum changes.
So give those ideas a try and let me know.
