Chrysler Repair: LH car seat reclines too far, track bolts, chrysler concorde

Question
The position of the front seat-backs of my Chrysler Concorde are too reclined.  The motor appears to work properly, with no obstructions visible.  Is there some way to either extend the range of adjustment or move it into a more practical range?

Answer
Hi Dave,
My LH manual doesn't speak to this question. However it does show that the seat back is removable and therefore I would be inclined (excuse the pun) to remove the seat back and examine whether the motor driven recliner rods can be adjusted to be longer or shorter and thus change the range of tilt. Probably it would be easier to remove the seat from the car than to try it in position. You have to remove the front and rear track bolts and disconnect the wire for the motors. To remove the back you remove the decorative cover on the side, then remove the seat power switch, then turn the seat so bottom side is up, then open the connectors that tie the recliner rods to the seat back arms.
I suspect that the recliner rods are adjustable because the drawing show what appears to be threaded fittings. In fact there might even be an adjustment in those rods that can be made without actually opening the interconnection.
So do have a go at it and please let me know what you find.
