Chrysler Repair: brake lights staying on, brake light switch, internal spring

Question
I recently had my 93 concorde plenum box out.  after replacing everything I found my brake lights came on as soon as the negative battery post was connected.  I took it apart and checked every connection when I put it back together. Still the same. Any ideas on where to start or what can make thenm stay on. I checked my ground for the system as well and they are good.

Answer
Hi Jeremy,
If by plenum box you mean that which is associated with the engine intake, then I don't see any reason that would affect the brake light. Is there another term for 'plenum box' that you could tell me so I might understand what part you worked on? About the only reason that I can see for the brake light to stay on is that the brake light switch which is activated by the brake pedal arm (under the dash) in out of adjustment and so it is allowed to close its contacts (push button moves out due to internal spring) even when the brake is not in use. So I would take a look at the brake light switch and verify that it is being allowed to move to the closed position even if you aren't stepping on brake pedal. Its position is adjustable.
