Chrysler Repair: 98 Dodge Viper mysterious oil loss, valve stem seals, daimler chrysler

Question
The car is a Gen II GTS.  I had the motor freshened/rebuilt this
winter with chrome moly pushrods and T & D roller rockers.  The
engine would run fine, but I was getting blow by at the track (road
course) from the stock PCV set up under braking;  g forces pushed
oil into the PCV lines mounted off the front of the valve covers and
circulated it through the intake.  That is fixed with a catch can set-
up now, and there is no oil on the ground, but I lose 1-2 quarts of
oil on a track weekend, with the level dipping below "min" if I don't
fill it up.  I see occasional little puffs of blue smoke during upshifts
under hard acceleration.  Any thoughts?

Answer
I REALLY wish I had the experience to answer your questions here.  I've replaced 1 trans, 1 clutch w/release bearing and one dash harness and then I pretty much left the dealership level and doubt I will have the please of working on another viper for a long while.

That being said the only thing I can think of would be baffles in the valve covers, windage tray in the oil pan (though it probably already has one) in order to help the oil getting pulled in to the PCV system.

Not to compare your car to my neon or my old eclipse with the neon motor in it but both consumed alot of oil between oil changes.  New valve stem seals and a temporary catch-can didn't seem to make any difference.  So that tells me the only thing left would be rings, specifically the oil control ring, just not cleaning the walls like they should.

With your car being a Viper I'd like to thing there's someone at Daimler-Chrysler that would be able to spend some time with you and make some better suggestions.  I mean, it's not like you're a minivan owner or neon guy.  You bought the Corvette of the Dodge line-up.

Have you made any phone calls to something other than the dealerships?
