Chrysler Repair: Cooling fans a reason for hot reading? Concorde, concorde lx, ligths

Question
HI RLND
My 2002 concorde LX 2.7  gets hot when AC on and  traffic is high, many stop ligths.
In hwy it works fine and gauge nevers shows hot.
In traffic shut the AC and no problem.

I changed the relay of fan, and still same
someone told me the high fan ( Right ) is not going on as it should, I have seen both fans working.
When car is cold, no fan goes on. with AC ,Driver side fan goes on immediatley , not the other .
I read your answer about air trapped in thermostast housing, could it be my case?
If I change the fan motor ( right fan motor passenger side) is it the heavy duty cooling or not heavy duty cooling fan type?.
THANKS A LOT

Answer
Hi Alex,
I am unclear about a couple of things: How far upscale does the needle go on the temp gauge, and do you ever boil over?
And when the gauge is high, are both fans running?
It may be there is nothing wrong with your fans. The slower fan will come on always if you ask for AC, and it will come on at around 210F when you haven't asked for AC. The faster fan comes on at 230F. So check out that operation the next time you are concerned about the reading of the gauge.
It may be if you aren't boiling over that the gauge is just reading inaccurately. Or you may not have a 50/50 mixture.
So I need to know more to offer any other advice.
