Chrysler Repair: 97 LHS Brake line part--abs, stock part, small pin

Question
On my rear-end of the brake line on both sides I have a aluminum fitting that is flanged on one side and threaded on the other.  It is located 10" before the rubber hose to the caliper.  The fitting comes apart in the middle and it is reduced to a small pin hole.  I have checked the book and went to the dealer and no clue what the part is.  They inform me it is a stock part but ?.  Please can you help

I really can't picture what you're talking about based on the description.  It's been a few months since I've worked on  97 and older LH car so the memoery is not so good.  Can you take pictures and post them up somewhere so I can look at what you're talking about?
