Chrysler Repair: car not getting fire to modular, chrysler cirrus, dome light

One night when I was exiting the car (96 chrysler cirrus)   and the dome light would not turn off, so I turned it to the off position, that next morning, the car would not start, I tried to boost it off and it still won't start.  It sounds like it is going to start but it doesn't,

Answer
Does the engine just spin over and over but will not fire up?  There are a few no-start conditions I've responded to regarding the 2.5L v6 engine that may be in your car.  Check those out and see if any of that information helps.  I will need to know which engine you have before I can do any more research.

As far as the dome light not going out I would be suspicious of a bad door ajar switch but really don't think it's related to the no-start condition unless you tell me the engine is real slow to turn over.
