Answer
Hi demell,
The code 19 says that the digital communication between the engine controller and the trans controller is interrupted. This could be due to a wiring break, or a malfunction of the communictation circuit module in the trans controller or the engine controller. Because it appears to be intermittant you might want to start by inspecting the wires on the 60-way plug of the transmission controller and the 60-way plug of the engine controller. You could remove the plugs and check the continuity of the wires between those two controllers. The pins are #4 and 43 at the trans plug and 46 and 26 on the engine controller plug, respectively. So see if you get a 0 ohm reading between 4 and 46 and similarly between 43 and 26, and try shaking the harness while you do the measurement.
If that seems o.k. then it may be more efficient to use a diagnostic readout box (DRB II made by Chrysler) to determing exactly what is wrong with the data bus system that is causing the loss of communication. Furtunately, the code 19 doesn't implicate the transmission itself as the problem but rather the wiring or one of the two controllers.
