Chrysler Repair: Sebring Sentry Key, forturne, sentry

Question
I bought a used 2000 Sebring with only one grey sentry key, was told I needed to pay $50 for the key and about another $50 to have it programmed. I bought a blk. Valet key to open doors in case I locked keys in car. The blk key starts my car. I was just wondering why, and why would I be told that it wouldn't.  Thanks Patty

Answer
Hi Patty,
I have to beg ignorance on this one...but you may have noticed that I only claim to be expert thru the 1999 model
year:). Seriously, these theft systems have evolved overtime such that unless you have a manual for each year and vehicle line you may get it wrong. I guess all I can say is to be happy with your good forturne. I hope you enjoy the car. Let me know if something less challenging comes up like the engine, etc.
