Chrysler Repair: 97 T&C overhead console temp reads 00, chrysler vehicles, fuse box

Question
The overhead console thermometer on my 97 T&C is frozen at 00 c

Answer
Hi Bill,
On other Chrysler vehicles of the latter 90's there is a temperature sensor mounted under the radiator at the front of the vehicle (on the blower fan frame or the frame rail) and its signal wire goes to the body computer (violet/green wire, along with a voltage supply wire) located under the dash near the fuse box. If you can find the wire(s) with the same color codes at one of the three plugs of the computer as those at the sensor you would begin by verifying that there is continuity from the sensor's plug to the body computer plug. If the continuity is proven (near 0 ohms resistance between the two ends of the wires) then you could reasonably buy a new temperature sensor at the dealership and replace the original sensor. If the wire(s) are open, then you will need to locate the break in the wire and repair it.
I don't have a detailed wiring diagram for vans of those years, but the principles should be the same as described above for the other vehicles.
