Chrysler Repair: Electrical Problems after disconnecting wire, chrysler grand voyager, amp fuse

Question
Hi, I'm in progress of installning an DVD system in my Chrysler Grand Voyager LE 1997. As a part of "my" smart installation i thought that I would hook up on the groundpoint on the originial radiosystem, as this should also remain in the car ( the DVD is an extra just for that). I also connected me up on the battery cable that goes into the radio (pink). Before doing any of this, the pink batterycable had 12.3v. After detaching a black cable on the groundpoint back on the radio, marked with AMP on the connector, I connected my ground and then reattached the black kabel, and then checked for power on the dvd. NO power, after cheking the plus (from the pink battery cabel) this was now down to 1.0v . Now the problems starts, there is no interior lights, the remote lock/unlock does not work, when lcoking the door with the key it only lock that door not all of them, when starting the engine it stops after a few seconds. The "alarm set" beeping can be heard when ignitionkey is in "on" position but the "alarm set" lamp is not blinking. But when in "on" position, the interior lights come on, the locking system works but still not the remote key lock/unlock.
I have tried some of the tips you have given others here, lock and unlock the doors with the key, does not work. The code I get when checking the MIL code is 12 55. I have also tried disconnecting the battery but nothing helps! What have happend and how can this be fixed. Is this all because of the kabel attached to radio ground marked "AMP", is it the anti theft system in work?, also the radio does not work, it only lights up the display, but it displays nothing, not even CODE. Hope you can help me as we cant even get the car moving now.
Thanks from a desperate man that need his car working in two days or no holiday.

Answer
Hi Frank,
I don't quite understand what you were connecting and disconnecting but it appears that you blew the fuse that supplies that pink wire which is a 10 amp fuse in position 10 in the power distribution center under the hood. So try checking that fuse out. I would disconnect the DVD and reconnect the radio as you found it so as to get to status quo ante. I am really exhausted tonight so I can't give any more effort to you now. But I will tomorrow. This surely sounds like the theft system has been alarmed and now won't cancel it. I would not disconnect the battery under these circumstances because that will be viewed by the system as a further attempt to steal the car. But how we are going to clear this is yet to be determined. Because time is pressing I would suggest that you check all the fuses under the hood and under the dash. Maybe you will find another one that powers some aspect of the theft system that is blown which might get the remote to work again if you replaced it. Also be sure the battery in the remove is good. The remote disarm is more "active" than the door locks so it would be important to get it to work so as to clear the alarm.
