Chrysler Repair: roaring noise from the right tire area, cv axle, brake caliper

Question
I have a 01 Concorde LXI, just recently I began hearing this loud roaring noise from the front right wheel area.  When I am driving straight you can hear it, however when I turn right or on a right curve it completely goes away.  I took the tire off and found a sensor that screws into the brake caliper to be lose.  I tighten it back up, but roaring noise is still there.  I have a good idea it is not the CV axle, because it's not clicking.  I can also describe the sound, well imagine taking a stick and placing it into a fan blade.  You can't hear it at 1 or 2 mph. Thanks for your help  in advance.

Answer
Hi Brown,
Roaring from the front end is a sound I usually associate with a roughened wheel bearing, particularly the dependence upon whether noise is when going straight or only when turning. CV's noise is usually the reverse of what you are getting, worse when turning. But just in case take a look for leaking boots on the right side half axle. You might be able to put the trans in neutral, jack up the wheel and turn the tire by hand to feel or listen for the roughness telegraphing to the wheel or the sound coming directly from the hub, though with the drive axle attached that may not be possible due to other noises/mecanical vibrations. Changing the hub and bearing is fairly easy because they bolt-in as a unit, rather than being a press fit. Any chance you might get this replaced under a warranty?
