where do i fill the freeon at on a 1989 dodge spirit es

Hi Chris,
If you are adding freon to a system that is low on refrigerant (as opposed to being totally empty) you add it to the discharge port which is located in the smaller metal a/c line just before the cylindrically-shaped muffler at the very front right corner or the engine compartment (just above the spark coil). It has a dust cap that you can remove in order to access the valve for attachment of the filler hose.
On the other hand if the system is empty, it is a more complex procedure that I can describe to you as it is documented in the 89 shop manual. But it would be helpful to have a manifold with gauges to do that task as is available at a professional a/c shop.
