Chrysler Repair: #11 Trouble code/ 93 Chrysler T&C, mounting bolt, position sensors

Question
Is there a way to test the cam and crank position sensors? I had A Voltage surge that fried a fusable link, replaced link then checked codes and got #11 & 42. Have voltage to the ASD relay.  The relay is good but dont have voltage on the injector, altenator or fuel pump feed.

Answer
Hi Barry,
If you are now getting 5v on the signal wire but it doesn't oscillate between 5 and 0.3 then I wonder if you installed the sensor with its tip in contact with the surface of the flex plate because the way it works is that it reads 5v when the open slots are opposite the tip of the detector and then when the metal surface of the plate is opposite the sensor it drop to 0.3v. You are supposed to leave the paper spacer on the tip of the new sensor but press the sensor into contact with the metal surface of the plate (looking inside to make sure you are mounting in an opening? though that may not be possible so don't worry about that issue), then tighten its mounting bolt while the sensor is in that position (105 in-lbs). The paper spacer will self-destruct as the plate turns but there will then be a paper thin space between the tip and the metal so that the hall effect occurs in the crystal, dropping the voltage to 0.5v. So try remounting the sensor, and if the paper was removed get a new paper spacer from a dealer so you can set up the distance properly. I wouldn't conclude the pcm is bad yet, given the fact that the input for the sensor is able to sustain the 5V part of the signal without shorting it to ground. You just have to get a signal of oscillating voltage on that signal wire to get the pcm to recognize that the engine is rotating and thus it will energize the ASD relay which it is not doing at present, which explains all your non-voltage problems (injector, alternator, fuel pump feed).
I hope remounting the sensor will solve the problem for you.

P.S. Thanks for the 10's!
