Question
what is the part that goes in the passenger side of the motor on the side right behind the harmonic balancer it fell out when my wife was driving the car one bolt missing the other snapped off in block it is a cylinder shape piece that has a pin on the end that goes into the motor and in the motor there is some kind of armature that runs off the crank does it have to do with the crank sensor motor will crank but won't fire

Answer
Hi Mike,
The part that you describe appears to be the timing belt tensioner. It is removed by removing the two bolts when you have to change the belt or reset the internal timing. Probably the belt is now too loose to drive the camshaft pulleys (and thus the valves) and so also the timing of the camshafts with the crankshaft is off the marks also, which are most likely the reasons it won't run. So I would follow the procedure for replacing the timing belt to repair this situation, and maybe consider replacing the belt while you are doing it if it has gone near 100k miles. At least inspect the belt. You will have to extract the snapped bolt from the block.
The crank sensor is on the other end of the engine and is probably not involved in the no start.
The Haynes manual is adequate on the subject or I can xerox the pages from the Chrysler manual and postal mail them to you. Just send me a postal mailing address. Good luck on this project.
