QuestionLong story short, Me and my buddy where putting in his stereo and when i finished wiring his head unit. His radio nor does his digital dash works. I checked all the fuses for breaks, there were nothing. I can only think there is a bad connector, ground, B + in the circuit. If you could give me some info on what i may do next. Like what connectors i may back probe or what grounds i should check. Thanks

Hi Keith,
Let me describe the radio's power wires:
The pink on pin 1 of the gray connector is a hot always lead from mini-fuse 47 (20 amp) in the power distribution center under the hood. It is for the preset button memory.
The red/black on pin 2 is a hot when ignition in run position from fuse 27 under the dash and it is the radio power source.
The orange on pin 3 is the variable 12V dimmer for the dial intensity when the headlamps are in use.
The yellow/black on pin 4 is the 12V for illumination when the headlamps are off.
The ground is via a strap that is bolted to the back of the old radio.
Pin 3 and 4 are powered via the body computer on the passenger side kick panel.
The pink lead also is used at the digital dash (pin 13 of the red connector), and the orange is used on pin 1 of that connector.
So I would check those latter two leads at the radio to see if you lost either one of those power sources as a reason for the cluster not working. And of course you might want to be sure that the new head unit's ground wire is actually NOT attached to any of the pins on the radio's plugs, but rather to the ground strap. All the other wires on the plugs are related to the speaker supplies. Also, does the car have the infinity sound system which has an amp in the trunk, or the regular sound system? That will have to be dealt with for audio issues if so.
Also check fuses 8, 14, ans 26 under the dash.
Those are some starting points to check out.
