Roland,
When you send  the items, it's just like when you send something in the US. The only difference is the weight of the package if i'm not mistaken. As far as i know, they don't charge you with an import price, because the Post that i assigned to is still considered US when you mail something. Thanks again and have a good weekend!

Roland,
Thanks again! You have been helpfull for this whole process! Please e-mail me your address so that i can send the money right away! I really need that part, socket only, the board still good. All i need is four, so that i can replace the whole four sockets, left and right tail lights, just to be safe. Just send the item to me and email me how much you spent and i take care of the rest. My wife and I really appreciate what you doing/did for us. If you need anything here in Italy, pls. let me know!
Thanks!

Roland,
The Van is a US SPECS, if you can get four sockets for me and pay you the cost, the shipping and handling, that would be great and i appreciate it very much! the bulb part number is 3057. Pls let me know. Attached to this email is my address here in Europe; SSG Rojas,Alan; CMR 427 BOX 1619, APO AE 09630. Again, Thank you very much!

Roland,
Thanks Roland, I found the problem! I found out that the bulb sockets of both brake lights were bad. My question to you now is this, is there anyway where can I purchase those bulb sockets online? I've been searching everywhere online but no luck! Do you know what is the part number of these bulb sockets? Thanks again for your help.

I got a 2000 chrysler t&c van. v6 3.3 liter. My problem is the van both brake lights does not come on. The stop light LED in the tail gate mirror is the only one that is functioning right now. I'm in the military station in Europe and the AAFES Garage or so called mechanics can't help me because there is no mechanics that is good in electrical problem. I check the fuses and the relay and so far both of them are functioning properly and also i change the stop light bulbs. I would appreciated very much if you can show me to the right direction to troubleshoot the brake lights or if you have a brake wiring diagram laying around.Thank you very much.

Hi Alan,
I can reference the Haynes manual for '96-'99 vans which shows that the brake bulbs are all gounded all the time at one end of the filament. The brake switch has 12V on it from a pink/blue wire from fuse 13 which is hot all the time. The switch then sends the voltage on a white/tan wire to a splice in the rear of the van where it is split and sent to the three brake light assemblies. So if one of the three brake lights at the rear is working then the circuit is good to that splice. The question then is whether 12v is getting to the other two brake bulbs. So I would examine the white/tan wires at the bulb socket to see if they show 12V when the brake is actuated, and also verify just in case that the center high mounted stop lamp is supplied by a white/tan wire as well and that it has 12v. If not all have 12v then the splice must be faulty.
If all get 12v, then you have to check the grounds for the faulty bulbs. If the tail lamp filament in the bulb that also has brake filament illuminates then the ground has to be o.k. If not, then check the ground wire to its tie point on the body in the rear. If it is only the brake filaments that don't work then the brake filament is either burned out or there is not 12v on the white/tan wire at the bulb.
It might be different in 2000, but I suspect not.
Please let me know what you learn about the problem if you follow this approach.

Hi Alan,
If there is no Chrysler dealer in the country where your are stationed, then it appears that buying out of country and having it mailed to you is the way to go. I could certainly check with the local Chrysler agancy here, get the part number and then if that helps you to get it from an auto parts store nearby to you that would be good. An alternative would be for me to buy the sockets here and mail them to you which shouldn't be too costly postage-wise because they are so light. The only issue is whether the van that you have was manufactured for European sale or sold in the US and imported which might cause the bulb sockets to be different from what is sold here in the U.S. Can you tell me that, and maybe also what is bulb number that is used in the socket, just to be sure.
I don't look for autoparts on line enough to suggest any source. But local Chrysler parts people can get ahold of almost anything because they have natiowide data base of parts inventory. So let me know what you think.

Hi Alan,
I called the Chrysler dealer nearby and determined that the sockets are available, individually, for $ 9.02 each. He said that they don't come with the "board" if that is needed too, and the board cannot be bought separately but only comes with the entire fixture. So I hope the sockets is all you need. The part # is 46 76 587. So let me know how many you want and I will get them either today or Monday and mail them to you Monday. I'll let you know the postage and the final cost of the sockets (just add 8.25% sales tax to the cost of how many that you want). I might use a couple of dollars for gas (25 miles round trip on the freeway in my LeBaron) but that is about all I would actually spend out of pocket. So let me know how many you want, and if there is a way for you to reimburse me that is more conventient for you. I have a Paypal account if you have that service, or you can send it whatever way is easiest for you.

Hi Alan,
My wife had the car this afternoon so I didn't get over to the dealer but I couldn't have mailed it on Saturday anyway. But I'll do it Monday for sure. I guess the shipping may be reasonable since I think maybe they charge for mail to APO's as if it is within the states, correct? And I'll send it normal air mail, nothing pricey, correct?
Isn't it also the case that there would be no import duty to pay upfront?
My address for mailing back a payment will be on the package.
My best to you and your wife.

Hi Alan,
I rememebered last night that it has been about 15 days since I mailed the tail light sockets. I hope that you have received them and that they are the correct ones. If not, you might want to see if there is a hold up due to customs which I did have to fill out in order to send this to you.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they got to you and they are the correct ones that you need.
Roland

Answer
Hi Alan,
The money order arrived today. Thanks for "tip", which I'll apply to postage used to mail other questioners pages that I copy and send to them. You are very kind. I hope the brake and tail lights are going to be working well for you and your wife's safety sake.
Roland

Hi Alan,
That is good to hear. I'll verify receipt of your payment.
Thanks for your kind blessings and offer of future help.
