Question
i ordered the part for my daughter's neon from autopartsway.  i am removing the old.  how do i take the belt off.  it seems to be a separate belt from the main belt.  thats what happens when you are an amatuer trying to save money.

Answer
Hi Bob.
What is the year of the car and what is the displacement of the engine(L)?  Look for the underhood sticker or see what it says on the engine valve cover for the engine size. The belt drives vary by engine as does the adjustment removal of the belt. Usually you have to loosen the bolt/nut around which the alternator pivots in order to adjust the tension and you have to loosen an lock nut/bolt on an adjuster mechanism which is a bolt that rotates to move the alternator around its pivot point. To remove the alternator you probably have to remove the adjuster nut and the pivot bolt/nut. If that isn't clear then tell me the answers to the above questions.
