Chrysler Repair: 1992 Crysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue, xerox copy, flashing star

Question
I have a digital dash in my car.  The other day my gages and odometer and spedometer all went off.  In a corner where the speed would be is a small flashing star.  I checked all my fuses but non are out.  On start up it will show the gages but they do not stay on  I don't know what else to check.  I need to get this fixed.   Please help if possible.

Answer
Hi Bobbi,
The cluster has a self-test you can try which will likely diagnose the issue. It is a bit long and detailed but I can try walking you thru it and if that doesn't work send me your postal mailing address and I'll xerox copy and mail it to you.
Begin by simultaneously pressing the trip and trip reset buttons. Then turn the ignition on. Then simultaneously press the trip and trip reset buttons again. Then look in the odometer area and note either: no display (check fuses, battery voltage and ground at connector to cluster), digits (repeat above sequence), check displayed in odometer (press u.s./met button (speedo should remain blank but "code" should be displayed in odo for 10 seconds, followed by a code number)). Write back and tell me the code number(s) and we'll go on from there.
